Hello! I am an undergraduate student at Yonsei University majoring in Economics and Computer Science, and an incoming graduate student at
COCO Lab, advised by Hyunwoo Kim.
As AI drives changes at an unprecedented speed and scale, I aim to build safer AI that can navigate the complexity of real-world human interactions. I believe advancing human-like cognition is key to building AI that is not only capable, but safe and beneficial for society. I work on evaluating and enhancing how AI systems reason socially and cognitively, integrating interdisciplinary insights from behavioral economics and cognitive science to develop robust and context-aware models. I am also passionate about reaching those who are technologically or socially neglected, such as improving AI capabilities for low-resource languages or leveraging AI for mental well-being.

Research Experience
I will be joining COCO Lab as a graduate student in Fall 2026. I will be exploring problems at the intersection of AI safety, human cognition, and behavior.
I dived into my growing interest in misalignment and social reasoning. I experienced what it means to wrestle with a problem that is hard to define — humor, which shifts with context, culture, and the fine line between wit and offense.
ToC Lab gave me, a student who only knew OOP and data structures, the opportunity to intern. I learnt the basics of NLP and did research on detecting LLM-generated Korean text, during which I read and analyzed synthetic Korean text for months!
Work Experience
I conducted market research and worked on synthetic data construction, inspection, and self-refining pipeline development at an AI startup.
Teaching Experience
- Major Philosophers (UIC 3643)
- Critical Reasoning (UIC 2101)
After taking his course on Ancient Greek philosophy, Prof. Casey McCoy kindly offered me a TA position. I got to have exciting conversations with him about the life of an academic and got a little taste of it myself!
About Me
I enjoy coming up with new dad jokes (or as I argue, MZ jokes) in my free time. I have an endless repertoire and love sharing them with others. What was the form of transportation in Silla? reveal 🎁 Syllabus!
